Book Chat #3: A.B. Facey, A Fortunate Life

IA.B. Facey, A Fortunate Life Book Chatn this Book Chat, I’d like to introduce you to another of my favorite books. Yes, I know, I have many. But this one is special to me, so much so, that when my two sons reached high school age I insisted they both read “A Fortunate Life,” to help them understand the country of my birth. Australia.

The author, A.B. Facey, did not have a formal education, he taught himself to read and write, and here lies the beauty of this book. One feels as if Bert Facey himself is having a conversation with you, sharing intimate stories of his youth and the challenges he had to overcome during his life.

Enjoy!
