When I was child growing up in Tasmania, Australia, I was terrified of the ocean. I remember distinctly the power of the undertow and the cold temperature of the water. I’ve always been more attracted to mountains and snow, and yet I’ve spent most of my adult life along the southern coast of California.

My husband and our two sons surf, paddle board and swim in the ocean, give me a lake or a river any day.  Tonight the sunset called and we headed off to Solimar Beach, Ventura. Thought I’d share a few photos with you…
